In our night cap of week 5 we had the undefeated Mild Cats taking on the 0.500 Shamrocks. It was another game of low numbers as both teams had about 4 subs by the time the game got going. The Mild Cats held a 1-0 lead about 10 minutes into the game thanks to a plethora of saves by Senese in cage for the Shamrocks. Late in the first half the Mild Cats opened up the scoring and took a 7-0 lead into halftime. Massat scored their first goal for the Shamrocks halfway through the second half but the Mild Cats were too much as their offense exploded for a 15-1 victory to remain undefeated. The Cats were led by a trio on offense as Doctor finished with 2 goals 6 assists, Maluta 1 goal 5 assists, and Works 5 goals 2 assists. With only one week of the regular season left, the Birds and Cats have secured their playoff spots, who will take the final two playoff positions in a battle between the Grove Dynasty, Nightcrawlers and Shamrocks? Only time will tell.

Our third game of the week 5 had the undefeated Southside Birds taking on the Grove Dynasty. Both teams only had 4 subs on the bench as players seemed to be MIA. The Grove Dynasty looked powerful early as they took a 4-0 lead thanks to 2 goals from Polivka and 1 goal 2 assists from Bauer with 10 minutes left in the first half. It was all Southside Birds after that as they scored 9 unanswered goals and came away with the 9-4 win. Lacksonen had 9 saves in cage for the Birds, shutting out the Grove Dynasty for the last 35 mintues of the game and Son finished with a hat trick to help the Southside Birds remain undefeated.

Grizz controlled all game tonight, with goals from 6 different players. Owen Scannell and Eric Soderquist both netted two goals. Cradle Rockers had their goals scored by three different players and CJ Alessandri totaled 5 saves on the night.

The Nightcrawlers and Tigeons kicked off our second game of Week 5 of the Naperville ULAX league. The Tigeons were playing some of the best team lacrosse we have seen this season as they took an early 3-0 lead. After that, the game was back and forth, as teams traded goals from 6-5 at halftime, all the way to being tied 9-9 late in the fourth. In the end the Nightcrawlers came back and got the 11-9 win thanks to 4 goals from Lane, 3 goals 1 assist from Nashalman & a great showing in cage with 10 saves from Johnson.

An overtime victory for the Red Hook Boys! #33 Mike Mrzyglod was the hero, capping off a three-goal performance. Both goalies made crucial saves at the tail end of the game.

In our first game of week five, we had a.matchup between our two winless teams this season, the Valhalla Vikings and the Montini Mafia. It was a beautiful day out in Naperville, with weather in the low 80s. The Vikings came out hot and took a 6-0 lead into the half. Montini Mafia came out strong to start the second half, closing the gap and making it a 6-4 game thanks to some huge saves in cage from Rivera who finished with 13 saves. The Vikings offense was too strong late in the second half and Montini Mafia didn't have the legs, as the Valhalla Vikings get their first win in team history (1-10 all time) behind hat tricks from Baumley and Sexton. Congrats fellas.

After an even start, Snuss powders pulled away for the win tonight. Snuss powders had goals from 6 different players, and goalie Louis Katz stood tall, making 11 saves. Slide method battled until the end and were led by Duncan Breig with 2 goals.

Players of the Game ⭐ Average Joes: #31 J. Berrien – 3 Assists ⭐ Woodpeckers: #33 B. Harvat – 11 Saves ⭐ Offensive Standout: #43 & #49 (Average Joes) – 2 Goals Each The Average Joes earned a hard-fought 8-7 win over the Woodpeckers in a thriller that came down to the final whistle. Both teams traded goals throughout the contest, with neither side giving an inch in one of the most competitive games of the season. Offensively, the Average Joes were led by a balanced attack. #43 and #49 each found the back of the net twice, while an unidentified teammate added two goals of his own. #33 G. Nowotarski and #49 N. Rappis each chipped in a goal to round out the scoring. The offense was fueled by the outstanding playmaking of #31 J. Berrien, who recorded three assists and helped keep the Joes' attack moving all game long. Defensively, goalie #34 A. Schultz came up with four key saves, making timely stops to preserve the one-goal advantage and secure the victory. The Woodpeckers refused to go away, thanks in large part to a stellar effort from #33 B. Harvat. Harvat was sensational between the pipes, turning away 11 shots and keeping his team within striking distance throughout the game. On offense, #1 A. Perri led the way with two goals, while #46 J. Baumgardt, #10 S. Fehrenbach, #19 G. Gonzalez, #16 G. Jansen, and #26 A. Neuharth each added a goal in the balanced Woodpeckers attack. In the end, the Average Joes capitalized on their opportunities and held strong defensively to escape with an 8-7 victory, while the Woodpeckers showcased tremendous resilience behind an outstanding performance from Harvat.

⭐ PLAYER SPOTLIGHTS Men River - #43 J Stahl Offensive Catalyst Stahl led the charge for Men River with a multi‑goal performance, consistently finding space and finishing chances when the offense needed momentum. #37 T. Kasee - All‑Around Impact Kasee showed up across the stat sheet with multiple scoring marks, contributing both early pressure and key goals that helped maintain Men River’s edge. #38 J. Arens (Goalie) - Between the Pipes Arens delivered a strong outing in goal, recording 2 saves while allowing 5 goals, coming up big during key stretches to limit Marquette runs. Marquette #36 J. Kovac - Consistent Finisher Kovach was a reliable scoring option for Marquette, getting on the board and helping keep the game within reach. #41 M. Ritchie - Offensive Presence Ritchie made the most of offensive opportunities, contributing goals and applying steady pressure throughout the matchup. #46 M. Birchbauer (Goalie) - High‑Volume Stopper Birchbauer faced heavy action and stood tall with 3 saves, battling through long defensive possessions and keeping Marquette competitive.

The final game of Week 2 of the ULAX summer season featured Lock Jaw taking on Bay Ridge in a rain-soaked matchup. Bay Ridge came ready to compete, bringing plenty of energy and heart despite the difficult conditions, but Lock Jaw asserted itself from the opening whistle. Lock Jaw jumped out to an early lead behind dominant faceoff play and a relentless offensive attack. Controlling possession throughout the game, they consistently pushed the pace and capitalized on scoring opportunities, continuing to add to their lead as the game progressed. Although the scoreboard was one-sided, Bay Ridge's goalkeeper was the standout performer for his team. Facing a constant barrage of shots, he recorded an impressive 10 saves and kept the game from becoming even more lopsided. His effort between the pipes was a bright spot as Bay Ridge continued to battle through the rain until the final whistle. Defensively, Lock Jaw was just as impressive as its offense. Their disciplined unit limited Bay Ridge's scoring chances all game long, while strong faceoff play ensured they controlled possession and dictated the tempo from start to finish. When the final whistle sounded, Lock Jaw had completed one of the most dominant performances of the young season, earning a convincing 17-0 victory. With explosive offense, stifling defense, and complete control at the faceoff stripe, Lock Jaw sent a clear message that they will be a force to be reckoned with as the ULAX summer season continues.

The Cakez pulled off a hard-fought 7–6 victory over Marquette in a nail-biting matchup that came down to grit, balance, and clutch goalkeeping. 🔥 Cakez Highlights The Cakez offense was led by #5 J. Donnellan and #8 S. Gregory, who each netted two goals to keep pressure on the Marquette defense throughout the game. Additional scoring came from #27 S. Gustafson, while #11 N. Pound and #13 D. Brueske each contributed one goal and one assist, showcasing strong ball movement and team chemistry. 🧤 Cakez Goalkeeping Stands Tall Between the pipes, the Cakez delivered a standout performance. • #15 M. Schramm recorded 2 saves in the first half, keeping the game tight early. • #22 G. Wohlford took over in the second half and was a difference-maker, turning aside 10 saves to seal the win. ⚔️ Marquette Highlights Marquette battled until the final whistle, led by #38 B. First with two goals. Scoring support came from #43 M. Peters, #41 M. Richie, #42 B. Rojack, and #37 (name unknown), each finding the back of the net in the one-goal contest. In goal, Marquette saw solid efforts from #46 M. Birchbauer, who made 5 saves, and #30 D. Nerbun, who added 6 second-half saves to keep Marquette within striking distance

Blue thunder rolled through the Slime Lime Green with eight different scorers, Monday evening at the RAC. Led by #11, Asher “Not Danny” Noonan, with 4G/1A and eight saves by Miles Johnson, Blue thunder leads the summer series 2-0. The lush grass made ground balls slightly more demanding for the players, which is good, and played a factor in the pace of the game. Slime Lime Green was led both offensively and defensively by LSM Judah Beck with two goals and a handful of takeaways. The faceoff X was an experience for both teams and we were all relieved to not see any vomit during the game. Game 3 is on the calendar for next week. Check back then for updates!

The second game of Week 2 featured two teams coming off dominant opening-week victories as the Risk Takers faced off against Bronx Science in a highly anticipated matchup. Both squads entered with momentum, but it was the Risk Takers who seized control from the opening whistle. Fueled by dominant faceoff play, the Risk Takers controlled possession early and often, quickly jumping out to a 4-0 lead. Their offense was firing on all cylinders, combining crisp, unselfish ball movement with sharp finishing around the cage. Every player seemed willing to make the extra pass, creating high-quality scoring opportunities throughout the game. Bronx Science continued to battle and generated several chances to get back into the contest, but the Risk Takers' goalkeeper put together a stellar performance between the pipes. Time and time again, he came up with timely saves to shut down Bronx Science's attack and prevent any momentum from building. With complete control of possession, a balanced offensive attack, and lockdown defense, the Risk Takers never allowed Bronx Science to mount a serious comeback. Their dominance on both ends of the field resulted in a convincing 12-4 victory, sending a message to the rest of the league that they are one of the teams to beat this summer. The statement win keeps the Risk Takers rolling through the ULAX season, while Bronx Science will look to regroup as they prepare for their next challenge.

The Jackals edged out Paddy Power 9-8 in a thrilling back-and-forth battle. Despite a six-goal performance from Paddy’s #42, the Jackals got balanced scoring and held on late to secure the win.

Lakefront Legends Continue Dominance with 11–3 Win Over Purple Princesses The Lakefront Legends delivered another commanding performance, defeating the Purple Princesses 11–3 and continuing their strong run of play. The Legends’ offense was firing on all cylinders, led by #9 C. Jelacic and #39 J. Latte, who each recorded 3 goals and 1 assist. #3 A. Perri added 2 goals, while additional scoring came from #8 L. Mueller, #11 A. Bode, and #13 J. Sinclair, rounding out a balanced attack that kept pressure on the Purple Princesses throughout the game. Despite the lopsided score, the Purple Princesses showed resilience while playing under challenging conditions. Once again competing without a goalie and without any substitutes, the team fought through the full game. #34 A. Rios, #35 K. Sanderfoot, and #47 (name unknown) each found the back of the net, accounting for all three goals.

Week 2 of the ULAX summer season opened with a heated rivalry as Bronx Lacrosse squared off against The Birds on a cold, rainy Monday evening. Despite the weather, both teams came out flying, delivering one of the most entertaining games of the season so far. Bronx Lacrosse struck first, but The Birds quickly responded with back-to-back goals to take an early lead. The two teams traded momentum throughout the first half, with neither side able to create much separation. Strong defensive play and excellent performances from both goalkeepers kept the game tight, sending the teams into halftime with everything still up for grabs. Bronx came out of the break with renewed energy and began to take control of the contest. Their offense found its rhythm, stringing together several key goals while the defense continued to make timely stops to build a commanding second-half advantage. The Birds refused to go quietly. With just a few minutes remaining, they produced one of the highlights of the night when an attacker buried a spectacular behind-the-back goal, cutting into the deficit and giving their team one last surge of momentum. However, Bronx stayed composed, controlled possession down the stretch, and closed out the victory. In the end, Bronx Lacrosse earned a hard-fought 10-7 win over The Birds, improving their standing with another impressive performance. Through rain, physical play, and momentum swings, both teams showcased the competitiveness and talent that continue to make the ULAX summer season must-watch lacrosse.
