Game two of opening night featured another founding squad, Cougars LC, looking sharp in their signature baby blues, facing off against the newly formed Randoms, decked out in yellow and black, an outfit that still has the group chat buzzing. The game opened with back-and-forth action. Both teams traded goals and defensive stops early, moving the ball well and showing promise. Janie Spicer got the Cougars on the board first, but Randoms’ Karley Holland responded quickly streaking down the field like a yellow thunderbolt to tie things up. That would be as close as it got. The Cougars responded with a pair of goals from Reese Maidhof and Spicer again, heading into halftime up 4-1. After the break, the Cougars stayed locked in while the Randoms just couldn’t find the spark. Like a powerless Pikachu, they couldn’t shock their way back into the game until Marty Durden scored twice late to cut it to 7-3. But the Cougars didn’t flinch. They closed the door with three more goals to seal the 10-4 win—clinical and confident. Player Shout Outs: Janie Spicer: 5 goals Amber Bustard: 4 saves on 8 shots Strong start for the Cougars. As for the Randoms—plenty of flashes, but still searching for consistency… and possibly sunglasses. That yellow doesn’t blink. Next week: Cougars face the A-Team. Banshees take on the Randoms.

Tonight kicked off the 2025 Women’s Summer Lacrosse League with a heavyweight matchup: the Banshees, founding members and reigning champs, in their signature black, taking on the A-Team, 2023 champions and 2024 runners-up, suited up in purple. The night air was thick with anticipation...and humidity. Banshees’ Maddie Barhorst and Rachel Berrett wasted no time, combining for three early goals. A-Team’s Abby McCarty answered to keep things close, but that window didn’t stay open long. New Banshees goalie Sophia Thomas made her presence known, turning away shot attempts and picking off passes like a boss. Teams may want to think twice before testing her near the crease. By halftime, the Banshees held a commanding 7-1 lead. In the second half A-Team would come out swinging and put a quick goal on the board. The momentum would shift as Banshees answered back with 2 goals of their own and the rest of the half played out with Banshees 5 and A-Team 4 but the early damage held and the Banshees screamed their way to victory. Final score: 12-5. The scoreboard may not reflect how fun this game was to watch as the Banshees open their title defense with a statement win. The A-Team will have this one circled when these two meet again later this summer. In the final game of the night, which was delayed 15 minutes because of the lights going out at the fields, Freaky Lee Elite controlled the game by winning faceoffs and taking a ton of shots on offense. Behind 5 goals from Weisenborn, they cruised to a 14-4 win to close out night one of the 2025 Naperville Ulax season.

The Deadwings LC had to play a double header tonight and it did not bode well for them. The Blue Ballers got the ball rolling early on and dominated the Deadwings by a score of 16-2. They had hat tricks from Ardell, Baumley and Toman and a strong showing by Hollow in cage with 9 saves.

Game 2 of the evening brought us a sizzling doubleheader showdown: the hungry-for-redemption Green Beans vs. the always-stylish QC Kings. Early on, it looked like the Beans were steamed from their narrow loss as Hunter Duford, a familiar name, kicked things off for the Kings with a confident strike. But before the Beans could wilt, Taylor Rhynes, rocking a box lacrosse bucket and a slick pony tail, like he meant business, answered back with a statement goal. QC tried to respond, but they ran into a wall made of Campbell. Campbell “Stack ‘Em Up” Stack put on a goalie clinic, stopping shots with his stick, his body, and probably sheer willpower. An early acrobatic sequence featured a save, rebound, and a slick kick save that launched a fast break. Cue ULAX's League Ass. Manager Carter Blessing threading a perfect feed to Julian Taylor, who turned the corner at X and buried the go-ahead goal. By halftime, the Beans led 6-1 and Stack had already racked up 5 saves on 6 shots. The second half? That was a full-on cass-a-roll. The Beans absolutely smothered QC with a defensive shutout with Stack adding another 6 saves to his total. That’s 11 saves on the night and zero chill. Meanwhile, QC’s Merrick Reiland (2023 MVP) and always a tough opponent, fought valiantly with 6 saves, but the Beans were spreading the wealth. 7-different goal scorers found success as the Beans squirmed through the defense, the crease, and probably a few defenders' egos. Final Score: Green Beans 10 – QC Kings 1 A statement win. A grudge avenged. And a goalie performance for the highlight reel. Next up: Can the Beans keep simmering? Will the Kings reclaim victory? With Banktown stay atop the rankings? Stay tuned!

The Deadwings took down the Valhalla Vikings in our second game of the night at Naperville Ulax by a score of 11-6. Both Raap and Walker had 5 point performances for the Deadwings with 3 goals and 2 assists each.

Welcome back to another sizzling summer of Men’s Lacrosse, where sweat meets swagger and turf burns are a badge of honor. Tonight, the OG squad, Banktown Bandits, squared off against the freshly rebranded (and undeniably nutritious) Green Beans. As the sun dipped below the Carolina treetops and the turf cooked like a Waffle House griddle, it was clear: this was "lacrosse weather". The goalie matchup was a familiar showdown Elija “The Wall” Tracy holding it down for Banktown and Campbell “Stack the Saves” Stack between the pipes for the Beans. Banktown struck first, with Kevin Jendrasik opening the scoring but the Beans, Isaac Abee snapped back with a goal of his own. Another pair of goals apiece brought us to halftime knotted up at 2-2, despite the Beans losing their faceoff man late in the first. (Word on the sideline is he tripped on a rogue lima bean.) The second half? Déjà vu. More back-and-forth than your dad trying to pick a Netflix show. With six minutes left, Trevor Tarring bagged his third goal, putting the Beans up by one and the pressure on full boil. Then came the save of the game, Elija Tracy with a point-blank robbery that would’ve made a bank teller flinch. Seconds later, Banktown charged the field on a fast break and tied the game up again. In the dying moments, both goalies flexed showing how it was done. Although Campbell Stack would have 7 saves it was Jendrasik who sealed the deal with his hat-trick special, breaking ankles and breaking hearts as the Bandits stole this one late. Final Score: Banktown Bandits 5 – Green Beans 4 A gritty win for Banktown and a strong showing from the Beans. These two teams are cooking up a spicy rivalry, and the rematch in Week 3 is already marinating. Until then—stay hydrated, tape your sticks, and remember: never underestimate a Bean with a grudge.

The Tigons came out hot and didn't look back as they kicked off the 2025 Naperville Ulax league with a win over the Pink Monsters. Macaluso had 4 goals and 1 assist and Clemens added 5 goals to propel the Tigons to a 15-6 win.

The Laxatives found success in this opening game of the season. Very fast paced and looking forward to the rest of the season for both teams.

The 2024 Champions win the rematch to open the season. The rain came, but so did the Dogs' offense. It was relentless, with four players scoring 2 goals each.

In the opening game of the season Cleveland, This Is For You took the win. Both teams look like they have a bright future ahead for the rest of the season.

In a very close game, Matt Kearns (4g/1a) for Marty's Angels was the difference. Tom Sanna in Goal for the Angels played well in the first half, giving them a safe 5-2 lead at halftime. The Golden Roosters made a late second-half run with a few unanswered goals, but it wasn't enough.

The Fellas started the first half slowly, but Dennis Argueta in goal with 10 saves allowed for a second-half comeback. Matt Humpf (3g/2a), Mackenzie Miller (3g/1a), and Hunter Rice (2g/3a) led the offense with 8 goals and 6 assists.

Great Lakes Grit start off their bid for a trip to nationals in Las Vegas with a W over Got Pastries. Two of their eleven hard-earned goals were added by Grit attack #28, Nicholas Piazzolla.

Average Joe's kick off the Summer Detroit Men's League at Madonna University with a win over Got Pastries. Joe's #28 Vaughn Shewell had a great day and led the team with five goals.

One usually has to wait until the sun sets to see the bats fly over Austin, but on June 1, 2025 the Bats were out in full force in the early afternoon sun, as they claimed their first ever SWLA title. The Austin Capitals, a regular contender for the SWLA crown, stormed out to an early 7-1 lead. The Bats began chipping away at the lead as the second quarter came to an end, and continued to grind away methodically in the second half. The Bats scored the game tying goal with under a minute left in the game to send the game into overtime. In the second overtime, the Bats were finally able to secure their first SWLA Championship victory with a game winning goal from Keith Jayne. Both Goaltenders for the Bats, Oliver Abrasion and Connor Hanson, made fantastic timely saves to keep their team in the game, and allow for the comeback. Eight different players scored for the Bats, showcasing their team depth. Keith Jayne lead the way for the Bats with 3 goals and 1 assist, followed by Connor Vercruysse with 2 goals, and Menson Poquie with 1 goal and 2 assists. The Capitals standout players included Pierce Kraft (4 goals, 1 assist), Alex Weber (3 goals), Deryk Delahanty (3 goals), Keegan O'Connor (3 assists), and Goaltender Cade Tolbert (13 Saves).

In a stunning turn of events the undefeated Chiefs, led on the field by coach Howard Alperin (#2) were unexpectedly defeated by an apparently more determined team Broski. The Chiefs from the outset had to fight their way to tie their score by halftime, being down by three points at one time. As the second half began the Chiefs offense looked to be getting worn out, taking risky shots and passes that caused turnover after turnover. Despite this the formidable Chiefs defense led by Wes Radulovich (#98) was not going down without a fight and only let two goals through in the entire half. Unfortunately the tow goal lead by Broski persisted earning team Broski the ULAX Spring 2025 Championship with a score of 7-5.

The energetic and talented spirits of team Malibu unfortunately stood no chance against the seasoned and discipline of every Chiefs player. Exemplified by their fearless Coach who never once left the field Howard Alperin (#2) who scored a single amazing goal, the Cheifs in classic fashion pulled no punches when faced off against the longtime league underdogs. The final score was 7-2 in the Chiefs favor.

In a riveting game a confident team Broski was thrown off their heels when team Malibu sensing that the end of their season was near, gave this game their all. After tying the game early, team Malibu never let the score get away from them and came into the second half with another tie of four to four. Despite this effort and an amazing goal which brought the game into overtime, the injury of star player Andrew Gallegos (#14) and a high turnover rate, gave an opportunity to Chase Williams (#3) of team Broski to score the game-ending goal. The final score was 6-5.

The Gamecocks capped off a dominant season with yet another championship win, taking down the Brewins in convincing fashion. From the opening whistle, the squad came out firing on all cylinders, jumping to an early 6–0 lead by halftime with a relentless ride, sharp ball movement, and suffocating defense. While the Brewins made a late push with a surge of goals in the second half, the Gamecocks stayed composed and closed the door with a final score of 12–7 to secure the trophy. Another statement performance from a group that continues to show grit, chemistry, and that signature Gamecock swagger. Well earned, fellas! 🏆

Tonight's game has been the closest that team Malibu has ever gotten to achieving their allusive first win. The loss was not due to a lack of effort, with Malibu superstar Andrew Gallegos (#14) and J. Joseph (#7) both scoring two goals which tied the game four-to-four in the final minutes. The battle for the last goal would extend into over-time, where the game winning goal was scored by Broski. The final score was 5-4 in Broskis favor.

In the most intense game of the 2025 Spring season so far, the Chiefs were forced to break several ties following a determined effort from team Broski to interrupt the winning streak of the Chiefs. At one point even being led on the field by Coach Howard Alperin (#2), the Chiefs won with only a three point lead, perhaps foreshadowing a close championship game. The final score was 14-11 in the Chiefs favor.

The Yetis and Washed Up Warriors met for the third time this season, but this time it was for the championship. The Warriors came in as 4-time champs and were looking to avenge their two losses from earlier in the season. In a back and forth match up, the game was tied going into the final 2 minutes of the game. In the end, the Warriors ended up making two costly mistakes and the Yetis capitalized, scoring the go-ahead goal late in the 2nd half, sealing the victory and taking home the Ship for the 2025 season.
