Game two of the night featured a heavyweight showdown between two of the league’s longest-standing powerhouses. The undefeated Banshees, last year’s champs, took the field against the also-undefeated Cougars, both teams looking to stake their claim as the league’s top dog. Right from the opening draw, the Banshees meant business. Aryss Lindsey opened the scoring with a rocket past Amber Bustard, and the onslaught continued. Rachel “The Cheat Code” Bailey and Emma Pherson each added goals, with Bailey tacking on a second shortly after. Before the Cougars could blink, they were down five. Reese Maidhof finally broke through for the Cougars, stopping the bleeding with a much-needed goal. But Banshees’ goalie Sophie Thomas held strong, limiting the Cougars to just one goal in the first half. At the break, it was Banshees 7, Cougars 1. In the second half, the Cougars showed some fight. After a solid defensive stand, sub Kaitlyn Glass helped spark a goal to chip away at the lead. But the Banshees weren’t having it. Bailey answered back with two more goals, shutting down any thoughts of a comeback. Final score: Banshees 10, Cougars 4. The Banshees remain undefeated and look primed for another title run, while the Cougars will need to regroup before next week’s matchup. Star Players: Rachel Bailey: 7 goals (yeah, seven) Sophie Thomas: 6 saves (60% save rate) Next Week: A-Team rematches the Banshees in a must-watch game, while The Cougars take on the Randoms in a bounce-back opportunity

After last week’s storms, we’re back with clear skies and a clearer picture of the playoff race. Week 3 brings us a key matchup between the A-Team and the win-hungry Randoms. The A-Team came in looking to lock up the #2 seed, debuting new goalie Izzy, replacing the long-time trash can that previously stood between the pipes. The Randoms, dressed sharp in yellow and black, were still searching for their first win. Was this their week? Things started strong for the Randoms, winning the opening draw and testing the rookie goalie early. Izzy faced a flurry of shots—five in total on the first possession, and turned all of them away. Eventually, she cleared the ball, and the A-Team wasted no time capitalizing. Evelyn Scallion opened the scoring, and the floodgates followed. A seven-goal run from Julian Barbato, Abby McCarty, Marissa Evans, and Scallion again put the A-Team in control. Izzy was dominant in the first half, notching 9 saves and frustrating the Randoms’ attack. Captain Kaitlyn Glass finally broke through with a top-right finish to get the Randoms on the board, but the A-Team went into halftime up 8-1. In the second half, the Randoms found a spark. Goalie Danni Ruffalo settled in and made some key saves. Glass added two more goals, while Katy Haenlein and Jenna Niedzwiedzki chipped in as well, cutting the lead to 8-4 and swinging momentum. But the rally didn’t last. Izzy came up big again with another series of saves and sparked a fast break that led to an Abby McCarty goal. The A-Team regained control and outscored the Randoms 5-2 in the fourth quarter to seal a 13-5 win. Final Score: A-Team 13, Randoms 5 Star Players: Evelyn Scallion: 4 goals Abby McCarty: 3 goals, 3 assists Marissa Evans: 3 goals Kaitlyn Glass: 3 goals Izzy: 13 saves (and no longer a trash can) The A-Team looks locked in and ready for the postseason. As for the Randoms, plenty of fight and flashes of brilliance, but the search for that elusive win continues.

In the final game of the night, the Blue Ballers took on the Mild Cats. Despite playing in back to back games, the Mild Cats came out strong, taking a commanding 5-1 lead into halftime. The Blue Ballers scored 3 quick ones in the second half to make the game 5-4, but the Mild Cats held on late in the second half, as Doctor finished with 2 goals and 2 assists to lead the Mild Cats to a 10-6 victory.

The Red Hook Raiders faced off against the Bunyon Bandits in the nightcap game. After an exciting contest with elite skills on display on both ends, Albany's reigning champs in the Red Hook Raiders hold on to their early lead. The Red Hook Raiders had 7 different players score a goal, with Wesley Ihlow (9 saves) anchoring the squad on the back end. For the Bunyon Bandits, midfield Jack Higgins (3g) led the team in scoring.

In the third game of the evening, the Mild Cats and Pink Monsters played their make up game from last week which was cancelled due to lightening. The Mild Cats played team lacrosse, assisting on 14 of their 17 goals on in the game. Despite 14 saves from the Pink Monster's goalie Maurer, Mild Cats's Works finished with 5 goals and 3 assists to lead the Mild Cats to a 17-3 victory over the Pink Monsters.

In the nightcap, Banktown Bandits looked to ride the momentum from their earlier win and leapfrog the Green Beans in the standings. The Beans, meanwhile, aimed to secure a dominant position heading into the Independence Day break. The Beans struck first, with Isaac Abee ripping a quick one to open the scoring. But Banktown’s Kevin Jendrasik answered right back with a filthy shot past keeper Campbell Stack. Max Kaplan fired back for the Beans, stinging the net and setting the tone for a high-intensity battle. The defenses didn’t disappoint either, applying pressure and forcing turnovers. Banktown found a rhythm late in the half, putting three more past Campbell Stack to head into halftime with a 4–2 lead. The second half saw the Beans claw back in. Tyler Rhyne, showing off his box lacrosse chops, dodged from X and launched one over a triple team for a highlight Minutes later, he buried another and suddenly, the game was tied. As with every Beans–Bandits matchup, it came down to the wire. With time ticking down, Jendrasik delivered the dagger, his third of the night; slipping one more past Stack. The Bandits killed the clock and walked away with a gutsy 5–4 win. Bandits now move to 3–2, leapfrogging the Beans in the standings. Shoutout: Kevin Jendrasik – 3 goals, 1 assist (and ice in his veins)

The Cradle Rockers faced off against Ghost Lacrosse in their second game of the day. After a back and forth first half, Ghost Lacrosse came out strong in the second half and didn't let off the gas until the final whistle. Ghost Lacrosse was led offensively by Hudson DeLisle (2g, 3a), with goaltender Ethan Isdell (5 saves) coming up big when it mattered. The Cradle Rockers drop to 0-1-1 despite good efforts from Ethan Raucci (2g) & the entire faceoff unit.

The Freaky Lee Elite continued to win games in a dominant fashion as they took down the Pink Monsters in our second game of the evening by a score of 17-9. Hayes had 5 goals and 2 assists followed by a 4 goals and 3 assists performance from Weisenborn for the Freaky Lee Elite.

ULAX Week 4 Recap: Heat Rising as Banktown Tops QC in a Thriller It’s Week 4 in the ULAX Men’s Summer League, and while temperatures on the field may have cooled, the battle for the No. 1 seed is heating up. This week’s game is a reschedule from last week due to injury, featured a crucial clash between the 2–1 QC Kings and the 1–2 Banktown Bandits, who faced a make-or-break doubleheader. QC struck first with a smooth finish from Hunter Duford, assisted by Andrew Meyers (who made sure I knew it, if your assist didn’t get tallied, blame your captain). Banktown answered quickly with Brodie Ceperich finding the net. QC’s Chase Tweedy, again assisted by Meyers, regained the lead, but Ceperich wasn’t done, tying it up once more. Both goalies then stepped up: Merrick Reiland made an incredible doorstep save among several key stops, while Elija Tracy matched his energy on the other end. Each team managed just one more goal, and the half ended deadlocked at 3–3. The second half opened with fire. Banktown sub Britt Rumbaugh made an instant impact, scoring off a head-and-shoulder dodge on the run to give the Bandits their first lead. Luke Kennedy added another, putting QC down by two. Enter Tweedy and O’Toole (sounds like an Irish bar, doesn’t it?), who teamed up for a late push. Two goals later, the game was tied again with four minutes to play. Then came the drama. After another massive save from QC’s goalie, the Knights stormed downfield. Reiland responded with a huge stop, but during the clear attempt, chaos struck and Nick Beard raked the ball in. Rumor has it there may have been goalie interference, but as the smoke cleared the score was not in favor to the Bandits 6–5. Tracy came up with another big save, and Rumbaugh found the back of the net again, sealing a thrilling 7–5 win for the Bandits. Shoutouts: Brodie Ceperich, Luke Kennedy, Britt Rumbaugh – 2 goals each Chase Tweedy – Hat trick (3 goals) Andrew Meyers – 3 assists Elija Tracy – 6 clutch saves Merrick Reiland – 9 saves, several highlight-reel moments Lastly, a heartfelt good luck to Merrick Reiland as he moves to Raleigh. We’ve loved having you in the league all these years. On a personal note, I’ll never forget walking the field with you at that PLL game — you’ll be missed.

Slide Method faced off against The Cradle Rockers in the inaugural match up of the Albany summer ULAX season. Both teams battled through the wet conditions throughout, & traded blows late in the game to end in a stalemate. Slide Method saw 8 different players record a point, & The Cradle Rockers were anchored by Tyler McGue (3g) down at attack.

In the opening game of the Naperville Ulax league on July 1st, the Valhalla Vikings kept the game tight, even leading at one point. The Vikings had hat tricks from Held and Padgett, but Panozzo and Macaluso for the Tigons were too much. Macaluso finished with 5 goals and 2 assists while Panozzo added 3 and 3 to secure the 14-9 victory for the Tigons.

In a precedent shattering game, team Malibu has managed to score a record six goals against their opponents: the formidable Red Rockets. Thanks to the work of J. Lyle (#21) who scored three goals for the Red Rockets himself. Despite their loss, team Malibu surely saw hope in their six point performance and will surely bring the same energy to their next game. The final score was 6-8 in the Red Rockets favor.

Three Stars of the Game #12 Noah Walsh: 4 Goals and 2 Assists #21 Kevin Konopacki: 2 Goals #3 Rand Paddack: 1 Assist and 7 Saves

An occurrence which is becoming evermore common, the Chiefs have lost another game. This time against the Mira Costa Mustangs, who interrupted the six time championship streak of the Chiefs by winning it themselves two summers ago. The final score this time was 6-8 in the Mustangs favor.

Three Stars of the Game #34 Liam Casper: 1 Goal and 3 Assists #42 Carson Ghys: 2 Goals and 1 Assist #45 Ryan Landry: 1 Goal and 1 Assist

In an exciting game full of energy and zeal, the Beverly Hillbillies with the help of A. Dixon (#18) and H. Leachman (7) who scored three and two goals respectively beat team West Express in a dazzling display of strength and effort. The final score was 5-9 in the Hillbillies favor.

Goal Diggers and Top Dawgs face off against this week. However, the Goal Diggers with the massive team effort of nine different goal scorers take the win in this match-up.

Big Ballers had another great game, winning against Dirty Birds with a final score of 9-6. #19, Ryan Richardson had 3 goals to help lead the team to a win. With 5 different people scoring goals and 4 different people helping by assisting.

Top Dawgs face off the Valkyries for the first time this season. Close first half of the game 4-6, however Top Dawgs with multiple goals off the draw lead them to victory. Scheuer in net for the Dawgs with 12 saves. Krupa with a whopping 6 goals in the game.

A strong defensive effort from BeerLeague netted them their first win of the summer. The game was knotted at 3-3 at half before a late second half surge made the difference. With faceoffs being near even and strong goalie play from BLL they had the ingredients to pull beverages from the post game cooler. Congrats to all the tired legs on Sunday.

Big Ballers with a win against the Gate City Gates 8-4. For the Big Ballers, #19 Ryan Richardson had a hat-trick, and #14 Will Shepard had a goal and an assist to help get the win.

Chicks With Sticks found success by the end of the game this evening. Both teams found success on the field and Chicks with sticks won the battle of this close fight.

Blue Cheese wins 9-2. Brendan Smith and Justin Pugal led the offense with two goals and an assist each. Blue Cheese Goalie Matt Levonick played great, making 9 saves.

In a dominant 10-3 win over the BHS Bar Down Boys, the Bombers were superior on all sides of the field. The game MVP goes to Drew Waldron, an up-and-coming young midfielder, who scored 3 goals and was a threat on the defensive side. E.J. Ho of the Bar Down Boys tried to start a comeback late in the game by scoring 2 consecutive goals!

Warm temperatures, check; high humidity, check; a summer upset in Olympia? Is there ever an upset at a Ulax game? As we all know anything is possible in summer ball. The UnBEARables took a 6-1 lead into half on the strength of ball control offense and faceoffs. The second half added some drama as Chedski drew with two on two occasions. Fortunately for the Bears they had more horses in the stable and managed to pull away at the end.

Titans won over the Coyotes in the first ever ULAX Nashville match 9-4.

Goal Diggers take another win against NEC Summer with a final score of 16-5. With 10 different goal scorers in the game to get another dub.

A beautiful evening for lacrosse led to the Laxatives finding success on the field. They had six different goal scorers on the evening.
